result of the PMM Plus and PMM Ultra critical power distribution
system. At the heart of the distribution system is MGE‘s industry
leading digital static transfer switch. Fed by two independent AC
power sources (a preferred and alternate source), the transfer switch
instantly detects power quality deficiencies and rapidly and seamlessly
transfers to an alternate input source, without interruption to
the critical load. This uninterrupted access to dual independent
power sources offers unmatched reliability, availability and serviceability
the way no other solution can. Coupled with MGE‘s high K-factor
transformer distribution system the PMM Plus and PMM Ultra offer
complete isolation, harmonic distortion elimination, power conditioning
and distribution for up to 252 breakers in a single system. Ideal
for any application where downtime is unacceptable.

The PMM Plus
dual input distribution system accepts two independent AC input sources
feeding to an integrated Epsilon Static
Transfer Switch. If the preferred source power quality deteriorates,
the STS instantly (<4 ms) transfers to the alternate input source,
avoiding any interruption to the critical load. The output power is
conditioned and stepped down to distribution voltage via a K-20, double
shielded isolation transformer, feeding up to six panel boards with
252 breakers. |

For “ultra” reliability the PMM
Ultra configuration feeds each AC input source into dedicated
isolation transformers upstream of the Epsilon
Static Transfer Switch. Dedicated transformers allow all components
to be maintained without interrupting power to the critical load,
maximizing reliability, availability and maintainability. |

Critical Bus Synchronization

Assured synchronization
between both STS sources for 100% availability of both sources

Transferring to an out of phase source can severely damage inductive
loads and risks tripping breakers. Such out of phase conditions between
sources limits the availability of the alternate power
source. Using MGE’s Critical Bus Synchronization
(CBS) module, primary and alternate power sources will always
be in phase and available for immediate use, maximizing system reliability.
