UM Sensor Environmental monitoring for computer rooms
Connection to the network
The UM Sensor unit connects to any MGE UPS
SYSTEMS SNMP agent (UM Link or UM Agent) in the same way as any other
UPS, using a serial link. UM Sensor serial communication uses a "Pass
Through" technique.
In other words it is possible to daisy-chain another component, also
controlled by the SNMP agent, such as a UPS or another control unit.

software (included in Solution-Pac CD-Rom).
Measurement of ambient conditions
UM Sensor houses 2 sensors which constantly measures
the ambient temperature and moisture in the premises in which it is installed.
Measurements can be viewed, in real-time, on an administration platform
such as UM Console (Solution-Pac CD-ROM), and it is thus possible to take
immediate action if the air-conditioning fails or if flooding occurs.

UM Sensor comes with a power supply and a communication cable.
Alarm transmission
UM Sensor has 8 external relay contacts on a terminal
block for remote signalling of various alarms such as fire, smoke or water
detection, access control, etc. MGE UPS SYSTEMS has a full range of building
management sensors, which interface with UM Sensor to provide a full-scale
system for managing the computer room environment. Any contact relay state
change generates a trap to the management platform whose message is editable.
Automatic actions (calling a pager, running a file ...) on trap receptions
can be activated by the user.
