Our challenge
USB has been supported under Linux since 2.4 kernel for some peripherals such as (keyboard, mouse, etc. ). But as the UPS HID data structure is more complex, MGE has contributed to several projects with Open Source developers to provide an exhaustive standard and clean USB support for UPSs under Linux/Unix.

MGE UPS SYSTEMS is proud to announce that thanks to a common development effort with the Opensource community, USB connectivity between Unix/Linux and MGE UPSs is a reality.
The “newhidups” communication driver has been released into the NUT (Network UPS Tools) project and is compatible with all USB enabled MGE UPSs.

As the new Personal Solution Pac for Linux is based on NUT, you get USB connectivity with PSP.
